Kirkby Design Checkerboard Knit Cappuccino

A hero collection of original designs woven in a mixture of innovative qualities, including a layered pocket weave, chunky knit, relaxed embroidery, detailed jacquard and sophisticated velvets. Inspirationally, this collection looked to rugged landscapes and the flora one might find there, as well as graphic structures informing geometrics that continue to be a consistent trend in the Kirkby library. Achieving such distinct designs required a forward-thinking and experimental attitude, using an amalgamation of mediums such as paint, collages, photography and acoustics in a creative manner. A cutting-edge palette breathes life into each design, as earthy browns and rich ochres are punctuated by zesty tones of green, orange and apricot. A usable geometric with a twist; it may not be apparent on first glance, but this soft cut and uncut velvet is a subtle nod to a monogram of the KD initials creating the signature design of the collection.
