Architecture and fabrics unite in this innovative collaboration between Zinc Textile and Antwerp based studio Dieter Vander Velpen Architects, whose noteworthy portfolio spans bespoke projects across the globe. In this meeting of surface and structure, the rhythmic patterns of natural materials influenced the organic shapes and playful mix of tactile qualities, including velvets and jacquards that play with the contrast of matt and shine. Showcasing Zinc’s eclectic design language and Dieter Vander Velpen Architects contemporary edge, little importance is placed on everything matching but more on everything matters. Subtle nods to Zinc’s classic glam glimmer through the architecturally inspired designs that pay homage to the patterns found in marble, travertine, wood and sculptural shapes.

A relative of the checkerboard family; this three-dimensional rectangular geometric is created by a cut and uncut velvet woven from a blend of cotton and linen. The combination of these natural fibres gives the cloth a dry feel and matt appearance, offering a contrast to many other Zinc velvets.
