Juego’s laid-back counterpart, Checkmate sees Zinc’s relaxed, casual persona come out in the form of seemingly simple textured fabrics. Each design takes its name from popular games that may spark a little nostalgia, Solitaire and Draughts ring any bells? An eclectic mix, you’ll find super heavy weight, chunky cloths including chenille and velvet, sitting alongside a relaxed linen and a handwoven silk ottoman. A colour palette that echoes the collections casual nature, summer loving neutrals are joined by Spiced reds, Ocean blues and Cypress greens, as well the newest addition to the family, Eggplant.

Solitaire is a rich silk ottoman with an organic nature thanks to the artisanal method of handweaving. Subtle variations in the slub across the cloth give the design it’s undulating, rustic appearance and distinctive texture. The fabric is given a Kundhi finish, which is a traditional method of hand beating the cloth with a wooden hammer to soften the textile, after this the fabric is calendared to achieve a subtle sheen.
