Embarking on a creative collaboration with talented potter Kyra Cane, Villa Nova have created an engaging and uninhibited range of textiles. Kyra’s ceramics and drawings capture the dynamism and wildness of landscapes, through mark making and the alchemy of the making process.

The collection encapsulates the elemental flow of energy of the potter’s wheel and fluid movement of brush marks that layer to form areas of colour and tone. Prints that feature vast dramatic explosions of abstract pattern sit with designs that take influence from pastel drawings of tree lined and grassy horizons. These designs have an energetic pace, but also retain the chalky softness of the original artwork. The dramatic feel of the collection is tamed by soft fluid sheers and intriguing textured weaves with a subtle wash of colour.

 

An intriguing weave inspired by a series of porcelain tableware by ceramic artist Kyra Cane, the pieces feature delicate and imperfect metallic dots on a ceramic surface. The Ditto weave has a matt background with shimmering dots on one side and a lustrous satin background punctuated with matt dots on the reverse. The design is woven with a metal yarn that adds an incredible body and structure to the cloth.

We advise that you order fabric samples before placing your order. Our fabric samples are limited to a maximum of 5 samples per order at a cost of £1.50 per sample.
