4D DRAPERY is a collection of wide-width fabrics that bring a new dimension to textured designs, transforming them into lightweight materials. Utilising sustainable linens, recycled cottons, and organic jute, these fabrics feature a tumbled appearance and relaxed character, embodying a fourth dimension of depth and texture. The collection emphasises intricate surfaces, with subtle, nature-inspired patterns and diverse interpretations of stripes, all with a contemporary aesthetic. Every fabric in this collection is crafted from at least 75% recycled or sustainably sourced materials, aligning with the Kirkby commitment to innovative and create responsible design.

In a 4D space, objects and shapes can theoretically continue endlessly in all directions. The irregular surface and endless hill-like pattern creates a mesmerising optical illusion of dynamic, 4D motion on the fabric. INFINITE is woven with a recycled PET shrink yarn which when heated pulls together to create an organic texture. This textile is made with Oeko-Tex 100 certified linen and is also given an aero-finish which ensures the permanence of the 3D relief and textured surface.

Linen is considered to be a sustainable fibre as it is a natural product and the entire flax plant can be used when harvested, meaning there is almost no waste created during the spinning and weaving processes.

Flax plants are cultivated at close proximity, producing a high yield and storing large quantities of CO2 each year. Flax plants help improve soil quality which encourages biodiversity in the local ecosystem.

Measurements

How to Measure

Width measurement: Track

Measure the width of the track from end to end, if you have an overlap arm in the centre of the track add this onto your total measurement.

Width measurement: Pole

Measure the width between the two finials at each end of your pole.

Length: Pinch/twin/pencil heading on a track

Measure from the top of the track to where you wish the curtains to finish.

Length: Pinch/twin/pencil heading on a pole

Measure from the underside of the curtain ring to where you wish the curtains to finish.

Length: Eyelet heading on a pole

Measure from the top of the pole to where you wish the curtains to finish, we will add 3cm to the measurement to allow for the Stand Up.

Length: Wave heading

You will need a specialist wave track for these curtains (email/call for details) measure from under the track to where you wish the curtains to finish.

Hint: Where should my curtains finish?

Floor length curtains are best measured to 1cm above the floor. Sill length curtains look best 15cm below the sill or just above an existing Radiator.

Hint: Uneven floors

Measure your length in three places, we recommend that you choose the shortest measurement unless you want the Curtains puddled.

Lining

Sateen lined

Made from the finest cotton with added polyester yarns this lining has a soft handle, with beautiful draping qualities.

Blackout lined

This lining offers complete light exclusion and extra protection from the sunlight. Its thermal properties keep sound levels down and the heat in and cold out.

Thermal lined

With good thermal properties, this lining keeps sound levels down, the heat in and cold out. It also offers light protection by reducing the amount of external light that enters the room.

Add interlining for extra insulation

Interlining can be added to any hand finished curtains, whichever lining you select. The extra fleece layer is added between the fabric and the lining, giving increased insulation and ensuring the curtains hang beautifully.
